Editorial/Publication Design

This section showcases design work focused on layout, storytelling, and visual cohesion through printed or digital publications. From book covers and interior spreads to zines and editorial pieces, these projects reflect a careful balance of typography, composition, and narrative flow. Each piece is designed to guide the reader while creating an engaging visual experience.

Tokyo Ghoul: Book Jacket Redesign

This project involved redesigning the book jacket for Tokyo Ghoul, a dark fantasy manga by Sui Ishida. The goal was to reinterpret the tone and aesthetic of the original series while experimenting with illustration, layout, and hierarchy. The final design blends gritty textures, layered composition, and a custom color palette to capture the intense, emotional nature of the story.

Elements from the existing manga were incorporated, such as excerpted text and layout inspiration from official editions; but the final composition, color palette, and visual styling are entirely my own. The full jacket design includes the front, spine, and back, offering a cohesive visual narrative and an experimental take on manga adaptation through editorial design.

Nomad Digest: Adjuntas Rules

Nomad Digest is a travel-themed magazine concept designed to showcase the unique culture of Puerto Rico. The feature article, “Adjuntas Rules,” explores the region’s connection to coffee, community, and tradition. The design combines clean editorial layout with textured collage elements to reflect a grounded but expressive storytelling style.
